Accounting Department Assistant

Reporting to the Accounting Manager

Type of Position: Hourly – Part-time – 20-25 Hours per week. Additional hours may be required on occasion.

Pay: $18-$21 per hour depending on experience

The Quiet Moose is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Department Assistant to join our team. This role will support the daily operations of the accounting department, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and helping with general administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payments. Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system.
  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and maintain up-to-date records for all transactions.
  • Maintain and organize the accounting email, financial records, receipts, and supporting documentation. Ensure all records are filed according to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding billing or payment inquiries.
  • Perform other accounting-related tasks and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred).
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping environment.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel and/or Google Sheets; experience with accounting software a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Retail Showroom Sales Consultant

Our team is growing! We are looking to hire a highly motivated, self-starter in our retail showroom. It’s a fast-paced environment and we’re looking for someone to grow with us.

What we’re looking for :

  • The ability to support sales through visual displays and styling.
  • Experience in design and home merchandising is preferred.
  • A passion for design and style – must be up to date with what’s happening in the industry. You should be aware of current home décor trends and stay up to date in your form of choice whether design blogs, social media, or magazines.
  • A willingness to learn and grow with our company.
  • Proficient in Office software.

Responsibilities :

  • Answering phones and scheduling consultations.
  • Working with customers on the showroom floor selling furniture and accessories.
  • Working in the showroom to maintain a clean, stocked, and organized floor.
  • Styling the floor and creating visual displays and vignettes.
  • Assisting with the buying process of new products for the floor.
  • Receiving and pricing merchandise.
  • Assisting our designers on projects when needed (installs, accessory packing, photoshoots, tear sheets, etc.)
  • Responding to client emails and inquiries.
  • Taking deliveries.
  • Running errands when needed.

Hours : 32 to 40 hours. Must be flexible to work additional hours when needed.
Salary : Commission based, with benefits
Job Type : Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
